Reachinig a Goal

At the end of January, I posted about trying to maintain some kind of exercise program.  And, keeping it going for a year.

I am happy to say that for the past month, I have exercised all but 4 days.  Mind you, most days was only 15 minutes on the bike - a couple days were only 10 minutes - when I don't feel good, I don't feel like doing anything and I felt a cold coming on, so didn't do the entire 15 minutes. It's a slow start, but a start nonetheless and I feel pretty good about it.  I haven't lost any weight - but that's not what this is about this year.  It's about fitting into my clothes better, about losing the gut and hopefully helping my back. And improving my blood sugar and blood pressure numbers.

So, here at the end of February, my goal for March is to add 5 minutes a day - so 20 minutes a day and hopefully doing the 5 minutes on the treadmill in addition to 15 minutes on the bike.

I do have a doctor's appt. on Thursday, so will find out if the little bit I did helped my Blood Sugar numbers and/or my BP.  Doesn't really matter, because a year from now I know my numbers will have improved as long as I keep this up.

Quiltwise, I've done a lot of applique, getting close to finishing Pumpkin Hill. Have not worked on the homeless quilt at all, but now that the weather isn't as frigid as it was, I hope to spend more time in the basement finishing my machine projects.

Until next time.....blessings.
