Finished is better than perfect, right?

The borders are on. I'm not real happy with the spacing of the top border, but I'm so sick of this quilt, I'm glad the top is done. vbg It is definitely going into the ufo pile, because 1. I am sick of it, 2. I may go back and fix the borders before I quilt it and 3. I don't have a clue how I'm going to quilt it right now. I actually do like the quilt with the appliqued borders, but maybe I'll love it if I leave it awhile. (;-)

Gratitudes:

1. The Double 4 Patch top is done!

2. As of tomorrow, I have been happily married to the best guy in the world for 25 years. I know he's the best, because I was married to the worst the first time and for 10 years. Apples and Oranges.

3. It's been unbearably hot and humid here (and a lot of places in the US), so I'm really glad I can spend the whole day in the AC, quilting!

It looks wonderful and does deserve to see the light of day, Joanne so maybe as you said, you just need to set it aside for awhile and gain a bit more perspective where it is concerned. Too close to your work if you are sick of looking at it.

BOY, I would be working on something new in a heartbeat if I felt like that--something, anything that would make my heart sing!

Okay, I'll offer to take it off your hands, because I love it! :) But I bet you like it more than you think..just put it away for a few weeks, I bet you'll love it again.

And you made one tiny mistake, "I" married the best man in the world! :)

Happy anniversary, and what a beautiful quilt. It looks perfect as it is.

I like the oak leaf blocks, too.

Wow! Happy anniversary to the two of you.

I think the quilt maker 'ALWAYS' sees something she did that she'd change - after all, that's what keeps us quilting!

the applique really set off the piecework you've done for this top. What a great border to have chosen. :-)

Awesome quilt, Maybe putting it aside will let you regroup on it's completion. I've never been a person so say ,Put it in the UFO pile--- but Joanne it's a great quilt , even the top border, If putting it down gives you perspective ...do it. It's just too beautiful too forget about.

P.S. Happy Anniversary--Everyone deserves 'The Rocking Chair Thing' to share with a partner. You've got a jewel.

It's so beautiful, but as Linda says, if you're sick of it, work on something that you enjoy for awhile. Maybe you could send it out to be quilted? That would be glorious. It's a wonderful quilt !!

Happy Anniversary! Being married to a wonderful partner is beautiful than being married to a difficult partner (been there, done that too).

I think the quilt is super. I used to set things aside, but now I finish everything (or I'm working on it anyway!). I don't want my unfinished tops and blocks becoming a yard sale find someday, a finished quilt is always more of a treasure. Maybe a morbid thought, but I can't tell you how many blocks I see here and there and it always makes me wonder about the maker... So - give it a rest and then really - go back and finish it - it is so lovely and will be a real treasure once it is quilted!

Cheers!

Evelyn

Finished is indeed a good word! But honestly I don't see anything wrong with that border. Looks great to me.

I love the result joannne !!

Exactly right!

I don't see anything at all wrong with the top border. I vote that you leave it just as it is. You might also think about sending it out to someone else to quilt it since you are so tired of it. That would be a nice gift to yoursef.

I think it looks great. I definitely get sick of quilts too and I always have several tops *aging* on my shelf waiting for quilting.

Well, I don't see a think wrong with the spacing at all! You've just been looking at too close for too long. It's beautiful!
