So, this morning I made a decision! I finished binding the broken dishes quilt, and pulled all the 7" strips of scraps and used the Go Big machine and made tumbler blocks. I put some of them on the design wall:
I'm going to make the tumbler quilt first, then piece the 5" squares into pinwheel blocks. Those I will use between the 16 patch blocks at some point. And I will sew the orange peels together sometime also. I will probably make more broken dishes blocks with the 5" strips I have saved. And I'll make another Winter Carnival quilt with the 2-1/2" strips I have saved! It is good to have a plan!
So, then I packed away the parts and cleaned off the big table and I'll try to keep it cleared off! I also ironed a Big Dream Panel and the backing I've had forever and they are waiting on the longarm to be loaded and quilted - hopefully I'll get to start that this week.
I also need to prep more applique - which is my main focus - I hand applique! I belong to a group that meets often at a couple of quilt stores to sit and applique, so always need something ready. I'm working on two different ones right now and starting in February, four of us are doing a red and white block of the month from Stitchin' Heaven called In the Good Old Days - part pieced, part English paper piecing and part embroidery.
I feel more focused now that I made a few decisions
Until next time...blessings.
