I still have to wait for flooring, so I set up my cutting table and cleaned off my machine and started stitching today.
So this is what I started with - a bin of scraps - mostly 2-1/2" strips.
And this is what I did with the 2-1/2" strips -- made 2-1/2" two patches -- although I haven't cut most of them apart yet.
These were in the bottom of the bin -- enough to make another homeless quilt - just need to stitch it together.
The two patches will be put together to finish a quilt for the homeless. The quilt is called Winter Carnival and you can find it on Pat Speth's pages - Nickel Quilts. I still need to put the sashing strips together and the cornerstones, but the big blocks are done.
I was starting to get cold (all the vents were closed in the basement since while I was working down there I didn't need the heat, but just sitting sewing it was getting a bit chilly.) So, fixed myself a cuppa hot cocoa from the Keurig and came upstairs. I'll work on them again tomorrow. (And yes, I opened the vents!)
So, the only thing left in the original scrap bin are the parts to put the sashings together and piece the cornerstones. Also have a large amount of white 2-1/2" strips leftover, so I'll have to decide what to do with them. I really want to work on reducing the scraps and the leftovers next year.
Until next time....blessings.
