This is what I have been up to lately:
I finally got the last of these 4 placemats bound today. They are a Skill Builder from August 2019 that I finally pieced and quilted week before last:
And, I joined a challenge from the Love of Applique FB page called the 365 orange peel challenge. It started February 1. There is also a group doing circles and some people are doing both and combining them. I'm only doing the orange peels, but I'm needleturning them and loving it. I haven't done any needleturning in a long, long time because my fingers don't always cooperate, so I've been doing prepared edge applique (which is starching the edges and putting the template on the back of the fabric which means you need to reverse your pieces). But, needleturn is my first love and I'm loving doing these orange peels:
Mine, of course will be scrappy - hoping to use a lot of scraps of both peels and backgrounds.
I've been trying to finish up a few things this week. Next on the list - I have to pick the stitches out of the Coral Reef quilt I started to quilt, then put it back on the frame to redo!
Until next time.....blessings.
