Seriously hate winter!
But, at least I can go downstairs and sew.
I managed to finish 20 more of the windmill blocks.
The fabric on the left is the backing for this quilt. I bought it at Quilter's General Store in Rockford yesterday. If you ever get to Rockford, IL - that's the quilt shop to see. It's in an old farmhouse - actually working farm, and right on one of the main drags of the town! Convenient to everything! The owners are wonderful and their employees are all very friendly too. I buy their sale fabrics for backings. It's still nice quilt fabric and I don't have to worry about piecing donated fabric together for backs anymore.
I also started the last 20 blocks for the windmill quilt.
I was running out of thread (just a bit more left on the cone), so stopped piecing at this point and cleaned the machine. I don't want to let it go too long without cleaning the lint out of it, so this was a good stopping place. I'll finish these blocks next time and start putting the quilt together.
My 16 year old grandson is heading (with his father) to St. Louis today -- his team was invited to a volleyball tournament there this weekend. I know he'll do well -- he's a good player. Just praying they don't have any trouble on the road -- think this snow we're getting is probably all the way to St. Louis.
Steph is doing okay today -- keeping ahead of the pain from her hip surgery - but amazed at no arthritic type pain -- only surgical.
Until next time....blessings.
