Sunday

Today I had to spend more than an hour cleaning up my mess in the quilt studio, including dusting and vacuuming.  I can't work in chaos!  Got the tables cleaned off and sorted.

Then I cut a few more plaids and sorted them on the table:

And started putting them up on the wall for the next plaid homeless quilt:

I did finish the other plaid quilt top and pieced and labeled the backing -- they are waiting to be loaded on the longarm - hopefully sometime this week or maybe next!

Then I got to start playing with what I really wanted to do in the sewing room today:  sorting thru my many applique projects and prepping the next block.  I managed to finish blocks 3 and 4 of Cottontail Cottage which is a Bunny Hill pattern/kit I've been working on.  I had pieced the backgrounds for Blocks 5 and 6, but needed to prep the pieces.  So this afternoon I got the top third of Block 5 prepped.  My goal is to get the next block prepped for each of my outstanding applique quilts - I have probably 10 that are unfinished! Then I can grab and go and work on whichever one I have in hand!  I used to do this and whenever I finished one block on one quilt, I would prep the next block and put it away and go on to the next quilt -- keeps me from getting bored with lots of variety. Our little group (4 of us) decided to all work on a quilt called 101 Maple Street, also by Bunny Hill, and we worked on that one exclusively.  By the time I finished mine, I hated it -- still do and it is quilted and bound, but I'm probably going to give it away! So -- therefore, I'm going back to my old way of doing my projects, 1 block at a time and moving on!

It's going to be a busy week ahead for me.  Two days of taking my youngest grandson to his soccer practices and my oldest grandson has a volleyball game or two that I can't wait to watch!  And then another Applique Club on Friday!

Until next time....blessings.
