August Heartstrings

I finished this Heartstrings quilt binding yesterday. I took it off the longarm on Monday. This one was made entirely from my guild's donated blocks -- yay for them! I'll turn it in on Monday (our annual guild picnic), and pick up another batch of blocks. I still have about 50 blocks that Sue sent to incorporate into the next one, too. I used the very simple "Popcorn" panto on it -- nice curves and simple enough that it doesn't hang up on all the many seams. Next one I'm definitely going to play with on the design board though -- getting tired of the same ole setting!

Today I spent babysitting grandkids while Steph took Will to the doctor. In the last two weeks he has gained a full pound and grew an inch! He's still a little cuddler though, don't want him to grow too fast! Briana and AJ were both great today, too - it was a nice visit. Quality time!

Gratitudes:
AJ
hugs
Will cuddles
Briana's smile
A nice dinner out last night with Steve & Kim.

Lovely quilt! And even though you've probably grown tired of this particular setting, it is brand NEW to whoever gets it!!! It always amazes me how wonderful all these bits and pieces of fabrics make up into great string quilts!!! And, I've seen popcorn - that was a good choice for quilting. Enjoy the g-kids! Little Boy is 4 this year and gosh, he sure is growing FAST!

Cheers!

Evelyn

Nice finish! I can see where you are tired of putting these together in the same setting--however, I never tire of looking at them! :) I just love these quilts--and this is my favorite setting for these blocks!

You may be tired of this setting but I love it. I'm going to have to make one with red centers as part of my 365 Block challenge.

Popcorn is one of my favorite pantographs - I've liked every quilt I've ever used it on.

I played with the setting for some blocks tonight - It's another half square strings quilt that I thought I'd get cute and arrange differently. Well, about 4 variations and 2 hours later, I'm back to the original setting! It's hard not to think about how many blocks I could have made in the time I was messing around with it!

I did the close-up and it looks great! What a wonderful guild you have to make so many blocks.
