Another Drab and Dreary Day

We have had at least a week of gray skies and relatively warm weather for December -- the snow is almost all melted...it takes longer to melt in the woods behind the house, but the front bare patches are actually green. It's rather hard to find a good spot to take a picture, so still resorting to finding places in the house. This will be the last finished quilt for 2005.

A closeup of the label, and a shot of the pieced backing -- the gold is actually a Christmas fabric and the teddy bears have Santa hats on them.

Seems like I blocked the light for the label....well, duh!

I've started working on a couple of designs for my newlsetter that I need to have finalized by the end of January. So, the month of January will be stressful, to say the least -- guess I don't work well under pressure!

Another lovely pineapple blossom. I love seeing how different they all look. I hope to finish my top this weekend.

Your quilt turned out lovely. I've never seen it done with bright colours before, and really like it.

How did you do your label? I need to start labeling my quilts, but haven't settled on "how" yet.

It's a beautiful quilt Joanne, but I still love the scrappy one best!! *VBS* The backing is very GOOD and creative..and I love the printed label..way to go!!!

Mine PA/B is still waiting for hand basting...LOL..but I must finish up those baby blocks of sawtooth stars first. Need that one mid January.

I did the label using the HP Quilt Label program. I actually forgot (CRS)that I have those Printed Treasures fabrics to print directly on and used the Bubble Jet stuff to prepare the muslin, then ironed them onto freezer paper and ran that through the printer, then rinsed them. I made 4 labels at once -- for the first 4 quilts I plan on putting on the Handiquilter and finishing!

Great quilt - all bound and LABELED too! I see you are following your resolutions posted to the right of your blog.

I especially like the border pinwheels.

Cheers!

Evelyn

P.S. - this is the 3rd time I am trying to post this - sometimes I just have to keep trying until I get a font that I can read!
