Getting things done

This morning I went into the spare room and got it all organized.  It was relatively easy because I have previously decluttered and don't have a lot to get rid of.  All I have left to do in there is lemon oil the furniture and Liquid gold the woodwork!

That's all my yarn including in the drawer also.  I will not buy anymore until I finish a few projects.  I have yarn set aside for two shawls/scarves and I need to finish a pair of socks I started years ago!  The rest of the yarn is worsted weight stuff, both wool and acrylic, I'll use for making hats for the homeless.  Figure I can work an hour on my shawl and then work on a hat for awhile.

I also spent time in the basement today.  This is all I have to show for it!

This was the fourth block.  I took the first two apart and made a bigger mess than was necessary.  I pieced the third block trying to get the right amount of scant 1/4" seam allowance figured out, so it's way too big.  Finally got it right on the fourth block.  So, now I'm going to cut out three more blocks from different fabrics and try to get the last 3 blocks put together correctly!  I hate working with those small pieces!  But I'm happy I finally figured out the right numbers for my  Janome 9450 to get a scant 1/4" seam allowance! I bought the machine a year ago and really love it, but it has 3 different needle plates and lots of different feet and lots of great things it'll do, if I can figure them all out -- it even has a workbook to work on - but who has time for that?!

Until next time....blessings.
