Thanks

For all the comments and prayers.  We appreciate them.

We have called in Hospice.  All the doctors in Madison concurred that he is no candidate for surgery or chemo or radiation.  He was very weak and was sidelined for two weeks with a virus (cough and cold) that zapped all the strength he had.  He is hoping to build up his strength in the next few months and possibly go back for chemo.  Hospice will send a nurse out twice a week to check on him and do anything else we need.  All I need to do is call them, so that is very reassuring.  They will manage his meds also and try to keep him pain free.
We spend a lot of time talking -- I think it helps us both :-)!

Keep the prayers coming, and thanks.

Joanne, I have been reading your blog for some time now, not sure who directed me to it, I think maybe when I followed the Quilt Mavericks ring. I linked you in my Google Reader list now so I know when you have a new post. I have enjoyed reading about your life with family and your quilting. I have followed the health issues and my heart goes out to you as you have had to deal with more than your share in my book! And now this latest news with your husband is another for you. I just want you to know I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as you spend your days caring for your family. Am sending you caring thoughts from Texas today!

I've been so far behind in my blog reading I'm just now seeing the post on your husband's cancer Joanne.

I just don't know what to say, it seems like too much for one family to have to go through and I'm just so sorry. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Joanne,
my thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband. I know how hard this is for you and your family. Sit and spend all the time you can with him and just know that God will be there with you, giving you strength and holding your husband in his loving arms.

Joanne, I have been following your blog through Quilt Mavericks for quite some time and was so sorry to hear this news about your husband. You have certainly been dealt more bad news recently than any one person should have to take. I will continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear about your husband. (This is the first time I've found your blog). Hospice is good when you need them, as they say, just call. Don't try to do it all by yourself. May God bless you and my prayers are with you.
