Labor Day

It's Labor Day, but around here it just means it's another Monday!  No plans except to sew!

I did do laundry, and the lawn guy actually came this morning and mowed - I'm sure he's so busy he doesn't want to get a day behind.

So, yesterday I brought the quilts for the homeless I had on hand to church and gave them to Sharon -- she's going to deliver them to Miss Carly's along with some blankets and pillows she bought on sale.  She had a car full of stuff!

It was time to get back to piecing more quilts for the homeless, so I cut a couple more plaid fabrics and then started putting them on the design wall!  I managed to sew the top 8 rows together:

I stuck those rows on top of rows 9 and 10 that are also pieced together!  And that bottom row will be #11.  It takes 17 rows to make 80", so only a few more to go.  I'm hoping to get it all together this week and maybe get it loaded on the machine.

At the end of the day, I cleaned my sewing machine and cut the fabrics for the pumpkin and flying geese blocks for the applique Pumpkin Patch quilt.  I only have a few more pieces to stitch down on the center, so if I can get these blocks pieced, I can put the whole thing together - which will free up more time to piece homeless quilts.

Until next time....blessings.
